+ Why use Waterdrop? There are a number of bulk water delivery companies in Cape Town that started in the past year. We respect our competition, but we also have a duty to point out to you as potential customer that water is not a commodity and that all water is not the same. Quality of water differs vastly and purchasing poor quality water can end in a costly and frustrating process to repair damage caused. The delivery of bulk water also involves a number of moving parts and not all water delivery companies have the same definition of customer service. Waterdrop pride ourself on the consistent quality of our water and providing our customers with the most reliable and professional customer experience available. You will be impressed. + Why should I purchase bulk water? Customers could consider to purchase bulk water if one or more of the following apply to them: - Water usage is more than that which is allowed by level 3 water restrictions (105l per person per day or 12,600l per household per month) - Require water for applications that are prohibited by level 3 water restrictions. - Have high water usage and a tariff bracket that makes bulk water a lower cost alternative. - Need an alternative water source to mitigate municipal water supply interruptions. - Perform a once-off fill of a water tank that will be used as a municipal water backup. - Corporate customers that want to reduce municipal usage and save water. + Where is the water that is sold sourced from? Majority of our water is sourced from farms in the Paarl area. The origin of the water on these farms are either boreholes or natural fountains. + When should I order a bulk water delivery? Demand for bulk water deliveries continue to be high, despite the relaxation of water restrictions. We recommend that customers order at least 48 hours in advance. + Which areas do you deliver to? We supply water to homes and businesses in all suburbs in the greater Cape Town area, including: City Bowl, Northern Suburbs, Atlantic Seaboard, Southern Suburbs, Constantia, Kommetjie, Noordhoek, Simons Town, Fish Hoek, Stellenbosch, Somerset West, Paarl, Franschhoek, West Coast, Swartland etc. + Where can you pump the water to that I purchased? We can pump the water directly into your water tanks, swimming pool, underground tank, bladder, fish tank or any other type of vessel. We can also water the garden with any excess water that you may have left. It is your water and you can decide how you want to store and use it. + How will you get access to my water tanks, swimming pool etc.? Our trucks are fitted with high pressure pumps that pump 1000l/min. The pumps are connected to lay flat hoses, similar to what fire engines use. We will park our vehicle in front of your house or business and extend our hoses to the vessel that you want filled. We do not drive on your paving. Our vehciles are typically fitted with 60m hoses and we can comfortably pump six storeys high. We have all of the standard quick couplers to connect directly with you inlet valve, should you require. + How do you know what volume of water was delivered? All our pumps are fitted with calibrated flow meters and we take meter readings when pumping starts and is complete. We deliver the exact quantity that your ordered based on the meter reading. Customers are more than welcome to confirm the meter readings themselves. + Can I drink the water that is purchased from Waterdrop? All our water is pristine, clean and clear water that is tested on a regular basis and we can supply water that meets the SANS 241:2015 drinking water standard. However due to customers most likely storing the water in tanks, we do request that customers filter the water and/or UV treat the water before drinking. Waterdrop cannot be held liable for any harm that result from directly using our water for human consumption. + How do you handle corporate customers differently? We ensure that we thoroughly understand our business client requirements such as vessel access, connectors, SHEQ requirements, commercial processes and communication. We can setup demand based or frequency-based deliveries that are synchronized with your operation and ensure you never run out of water. Payment terms can be discussed as part of corporate contracts. + Can I purchase any volume of water from Waterdrop? Transport cost is our biggest cost component and we have to therefore ensure that we transport a minimum volume of water to a delivery point to make it viable. We also need order quantities that allow us to easily combine less than full vehicle part orders. The minimum volume that we deliver is therefore 5,000l per delivery. Our smallest vehicles take 10,000l and we can deliver any combination of 10,000l (e.g. 6,000l/4,000l) in the same area for people that want to share a load. + How will you ensure delivery is on-time? We plan all deliveries in our transport planning system and provide you with a planned date and time on your invoice. Our delivery coordinators provide our delivery crews with detail delivery instructions and all vehicles are monitored during the day to ensure we deliver on-time. We will update you during the day with your delivery status. + How does payment work? We have to commit to the vehicle and water related costs for your delivery and therefor request that you provide full payment upfront. We want to avoid the risk that our drivers must travel with cash and therefore prefer eft payment. We are more than willing to connect first time customers to some of our repeat customers if you want to become more comfortable with our service and reliability.
